Therapeutic Approach/ Area of Expertise

Anna has a relaxed way of engaging, and brings warmth and authenticity to each session.

Anna helps clients to make sense of their thoughts, feelings and coping styles, and how these may contribute to the psychological/ emotional distress that they are experiencing. Anna helps her clients develop skills that lead them to experience a new, and more adaptive, way of being (thereby improving their emotional/ mental health, relationships with other people and general quality of life).

The coping styles we develop, and our general emotional wellbeing, can be understood in the context of our life experiences (especially those that we experienced during our childhood). With this is mind, Anna helps clients to understand how their life experiences may be continuing to impact them today.

During her work with clients, Anna draws on a variety of evidence-based therapies, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), emotion-focussed therapy, schema therapy, and trauma-informed therapies that have a neurobiological underpinning.

Anna provides individual therapy to adults and young people who are experiencing a range of psychological and emotional concerns, including (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, trauma/ PTSD (including attachment trauma), relationship problems (in relation to a romantic partner, family or friends), grief and loss, and difficulty adjusting to a change in life circumstances.
