Experience & Therapeutic Approach

Tiffany views psychological therapy as an opportunity to pause, reflect and consider whether things could be going better. Maybe you’re dealing with bad days that never end. Maybe you're turning to alcohol, drugs, comforting eating, excessive spending or withdrawing from friends and family. Maybe you’re feeling crippled by worry or anxiety, struggling in a toxic work environment or piecing together a broken heart. Or, maybe you’re just not getting enjoyment out of things like you used to.

Seeking the guidance of a trained therapist provides a safe space to reflect on what’s been going on in your life, tap into what really matters to you and identify who you want to be and how you want to live. This can range from exploring and learning how to re-evaluate maladaptive thought patterns, opinions and reactions. It can involve learning evidence-based strategies to improve mood and functioning. At times, it can mean reviewing relationship dynamics, in order to uncover ways to feel more confident and empowered when dealing with others. It can involve drawing on strategies to get to know yourself better; through mindful reflection, meditation, identifying your values and learning how to deal with whatever life throws your way.

Working with Tiffany will give you a professional and objective perspective on what is going on in your life...not just your friends telling you what they think you need to hear. Tiffany often describes therapy as an investment in creating a rich, full and meaningful life, because what you learn is yours; it goes with you for the rest of your life. If you choose to do the therapeutic work, you will walk out of therapy with a new perspective, practical strategies and a different way of doing things.

Tiffany has been practicing as a Clinical Psychologist for six years. Recently she spent three months volunteering in a mental health setting in Sri Lanka and studying in India, learning how Eastern Modalities such as mindfulness, meditation and yoga can complement modern methods to treat a range of mental health concerns. In addition to the six years she has worked in private practice, Tiffany has worked in hospital settings, been a telephone counsellor for drug and alcohol services and the Gambling Helpline, tutored at the University of South Australia, and co-facilitated a DBT group. With a strong drive to constantly develop professionally, Tiffany is currently studying meditation teacher training through the Melbourne Meditation Centre.

Tiffany uses evidence-based psychological interventions.
