Dennison Psychology is a psychology practice, located in South Yarra (Melbourne). Our psychologists provide treatment to adults, adolescents and couples. Treatment is provided for a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, substance use issues, relationship problems, difficulties adjusting to changes in life circumstances, low self-esteem, personality disorders, panic disorder, trauma/ PTSD, grief/ bereavement, bipolar, managing psychotic disorders, eating disorders, and phobias.

Our psychologists can assist you to develop skills to better manage stress and other emotions, identify and achieve personal goals, improve relationships, adapt to changes that arise through the course of life, cope better with adverse life experiences (for example, trauma, abuse, death of a loved one, redundancy, relationship breakdown, being diagnosed with an illness), and grow on a personal level.

What can you expect at Dennison Psychology?

At Dennison Psychology you can expect to receive a professional, respectful and confidential service, in a comfortable setting. Your psychologist will be trained in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches. Psychologists at the practice have completed trainings in a range of modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Eye-Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Solution-Focussed Therapy, Mentalisation Based Therapy (MBT), havening and Emotion-Focussed Therapy (EFT).

Our psychologists greatly appreciate that developing an understanding of oneself on an emotional level is an important step to improving psychological wellbeing. This is one of the factors taken into account when therapeutic/ counselling approaches are selected. In acknowledging that no two individuals are the same, you can expect your psychologist will tailor your sessions to your personal treatment needs/goals. Throughout your counselling episode, the primary aim will be to resolve issues (however big or small) that adversely impact on your enjoyment of life.

Our Psychologists

Dennison Psychology offers a free client-therapist 'matching' service. This ensures the psychologist you see is well matched to your needs. The matching process involves a 10 minute telephone appointment, with one of our psychologists. During this, the psychologist will discuss your treatment goals and will recommend the psychologist(s) you are best suited to at Dennison Psychology.

You are welcome to book an appointment with a psychologist at Dennison Psychology without having a matching phone call. However, if you would prefer to discuss which psychologist may be best suited to you, click here to book a 'New Client - Psychologist Matching' appointment through our online booking system.
